Cook Excellent Food With A Grill

There are several types of grills that are in common use today throughout the world. Most grills are either fueled by gas or charcoal. Many people claim one side or the other provides a more fulfilling grilling experience.

Grills are used worldwide and are part of a world heritage. In the United States, grilling got started when the relative of Henry Ford, E. G. Kingsford suggested that a charcoal plant be placed next to Ford’s automobile plant.

The outdoor gas grill was created during the 1960s in Arkansas by William G. Wepfer and Melton Lancaster. The reason for designing this new grill that ran off of a different source of energy was that the power company these two worked for wanted to find new ways to sell natural gas to customers and thereby increase profits.

Typically charcoal grills use lump coal in order to cook food. The grills come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes.

The sizes that might be included are round or circular, square, rectangle and more. Grills also tend to have either lids or no lids as well as venting systems and heat control systems to get a better cooking experience.

Burners are also very important in the grill system because they are the source of the heat and therefore the actual source of cooking the food.

The materials used for gas grill burners are normally stainless steel, aluminzed steel or cast iron.

Other important parts of the grill include the cooking grid, rock grate and heat shield. The grid holds the food above the heat while the head shield protects the burner from the dripping of fat, grease and other objects that may fall during the cooking process. The rock grate is also designed to do this purpose and disperse heat to get a better cooking experience.
