The term scissors and shears are interchangeable. But strictly speaking scissors and shears are two different things. Shears are overall larger than scissors and are used to cut heavier goods than scissors. The first thing one will notice is that shears are longer by a few inches than scissors.

There are other physical differences between the sheer and the scissor. Shears will generally have a different size handle or hole for the thumb and the fingers. Shears may have longer handles or levers to be able to cut with more force. Even though there are differences between the two, the concept is the same 2 blades designed to cut by sliding against each other.

Because of these differences in design, shears are naturally used when one needs to cut more difficult to cut materials. Examples of that would be materials like plants, wool and metal objects. The specific design of the shear, will change with the job such as gardening sheers that have longer handles for better leverage.

There are shears that are made to be used in culinary applications. They can be called kitchen shears or scissors. These types of shears are identical to scissors at first glance but have minor design changes like a fulcrum that is placed further away from the handle for better cutting results. Kitchen shears are an excellent tool for cutting food items like meat or poultry.

Kitchen shears are also known as poultry shears. The best models are made out of carbon steel, because of their sheer (no pun intended) durability and long lasting blades. Stainless steel blades just do not last as long. Getting a pair that has removable blades is a good idea, so that instead of buying new ones you will just have to replace the blades.

Shears are basically a different kind of scissors. It is designed generally for a particular use in mind. There are wool or fleece trimming sheers, some others to use in the kitchen , another type of sheer is the pruning sheer intended to use in the garden and tin sheers or snipers to cut fine pieces of metal.

The basic difference of sheers of any type over scissors is that its generally constructed from heavier metal therefore it’s a little more heavy duty than regular scissors and they tend to be bigger than ordinary scissors. Scissors by definition are maximum 6 inches in length.

Some of the other differences with scissors include a fulcrum that is placed differently in order give it a better leverage while cutting which makes cutting easier. Many types of sheers come with removable blades which mean you can just replace the blades rather than buying new pairs.

The use of scissors goes back to the ancient Egyptians who used a crude version of the tool, much later in 1761 British gentlemen named Robert hinchliffe made a pair that is very similar to the modern scissors. It did very well in the market which led to it being mass produced. As time went by scissors became works of art in the hands of crafts men.

The 20th century saw a lot of design changes done to the scissor, with a whole new variety for different tasks came into the market. They are called shears instead of scissors, because the geometry and use changed with each design. Kitchen shears are designed to perform relatively difficult tasks such as cutting poultry. They are also designed with south paws in mind and also ambidextrous models.

nother type of cutting tool that is very similar to the scissor is the cutting shear. Shears are a type of scissor that is generally used for particular cutting job in mind. Some examples are shears that are used for fleece and wool trimming, poultry cutting sheers used in cooking, and then there are the famous pruning sheers which is used by gardeners.

The basic difference of sheers of any type over scissors is that its generally constructed from heavier metal therefore it’s a little more heavy duty than regular scissors and they tend to be bigger than ordinary scissors. Scissors by definition are maximum 6 inches in length.

Other technical differences with scissors include a fulcrum where the screw is attached it is geometrically redesigned to give a less “heavy” feel while cutting. Sheers nowadays also come with blades that can be replaced, which is good because instead of having to purchase a whole new pair you can just replace the blades, and save money.

Although scissors have been used since the ancient Egyptians it was not until 1761 when a British gentleman by the name of Robert hinchliffe invented a pair that resembles the modern day scissors. It was so successful that it became mass produced. Later on in the 19th century scissors were made to look like pieces of art by giving it an ornate finish.

In the 20th century a number of different shears for several different uses came about and one such product was the kitchen shear. This particular type of shear is very popular with cooks and chefs for its effective cutting prowess, being able to cut through poultry and other food items with ease. There are even ones designed for left handed cooks and even ambidextrous ones.

If like me, when you think of pancakes or omelettes you think of sticking, burnt food, that always seems to get stuck no matter how you cook them. Well really there is no longer any need, technology has allowed us this wonderful invention call non-stick pans.

They have to be the best cooking ware in the kitchen. You do not need to scrub, scrape and soak for so long when cooking with these pans. They are made in various shapes, look and sizes. Matching them with your kitchen will be not a problem. Having personally experienced these great pans, I would never look back at my old wares. Do not be doubtful. I tell you that they are really amazing. In fact, this kind of ware is so far the ultimate thing in the kitchen. I now enjoy cooking because I know what will be its end result. Before these pans, I used to think cooking as a chore.

It is fairly difficult to tell when just staring at the pan if it non stick or not. But, to make it easier, some of these awesome pans contain a red spot in the center which is what actually heats up and keeps the food from not sticking.

Non-stick saucepans and frying pans can be expensive, especially if you happen to find ones from Teflon, they are the original designers of the non-stick pan, but rest assured you can browse the internet and find ones just as good for a cheaper price. The non-stick pans also come in stainless steel as well as metal, so if you want everything to match in your kitchen then look no further, they have designed everything with everyone in mind.

One useful and important fact about these amazing pans is how low fat you get in cooking. Because it does not stick, you only have to use a small amount of oil or butter you need beforehand. This in itself should be a perfect selling point aside from saving yourself money by buying one.

What runs through my mind if I think of omelettes and pancakes is the burnt and sticking food on the surface of the pan no matter how perfect you have cooked them. Good thing today, you do not need to worry because technology has made our life easier and has given us this great invention called nonstick pans.

This has to be a God-sent thing. No more scrubbing, scraping and leaving-it-to-soak when using this kind of pan. It is not new, but its popularity is continuously rising as more people are finding out the benefits of using it. It comes in different sizes and shapes and is very popular in kitchens that turn out eggs into omelettes. Having used these wonderful pans myself, I would never look back. You may be skeptical about judging the no-more-sticking pan but rest assured this is amazing. In fact, it has to be the ultimate item in cooking. I actually enjoy cooking now, unlike before where I always see it as a chore, because I know what the end result will be.

It may be not quite hard to tell just by looking at a pan if whether it is non-stick or not. There are a lot of ways in differentiating these fantastic pans from ordinary ones. One is that some of them have red spot in the middle of the surface. This is what heats up and makes the pan’s surface do not stick with food.

Nonstick frying pans and saucepans are quite expensive, especially if you they are Teflon-manufactured. Teflon is the original designer of these special pans. You can also browse over the internet and see ones that are as good as Teflon pans but at a cheap price. They also come in metal as well as stainless steel. They have almost all of the designs that you do not need to worry when matching them in your kitchen.

Another really important and very useful fact about the non-stick pan is how low fat the cooking is. Because its non-stick you only have to use a fraction of the amount of oil, or butter you were using before hand. This in itself should be a good enough selling point, and not only are you saving yourself money by buying a non-stick pan
